On June 12, 2013, one day before BTS’ official debut in South Korea, they’ve made a showcase at their press release on Melon (at the Ilji Art Hall in Seoul). A day later, BTS performed “No More Dream” on M Countdown, marking their official debut.

Promotion attempts for the song proved to be successful, and the song made headlines, despite the group being rookies and coming from a small and almost bankrupt company. The song debuted at #14 on the Billboard World Digital Songs and remained on the chart for three consecutive weeks.

However, the song received a negative backlash as well. In a 2019 video of BTS reacting to their Debut Stage, Jin commented on how South Korea netizens jeered at “No More Dream” hip-hop concept by implying that it was old fashioned and embarrassing.
