“From The D 2 The LBC” is a single from Detroit legend Eminem and fellow Dr. Dre protege, Snoop Dogg. The song’s title pays homage to the two rapper’s respective cities, Detroit, Michigan and Long Beach, California. It was previewed hours before the release at Ape Fest 2022, with the two showing off the music video onstage.

The song follows a year-old rekindling of their decades long friendship, after previous beef in 2020, spawning from Snoop’s top ten all-time rappers list not including Em. The comments even spawned a few lines from the Detroit native in his December 2020 track, “Zeus,” where he rapped:

“And, as far as squashin’ beef, I’m used to people knockin’ me

And diplomatic as I’m tryna be

Man, Dogg, you was like a (Yeah) damn god to me

In an interview on The Joe Rogan Experience, Snoop Dogg expressed his passion for the song and touches on Eminem’s involvement:

“Eminem” really fucking shot at me, he shot his shot. And as a rapper, that’s what you want. You want, when you get a feature, to have to fucking work your ass off. You want somebody to come to the playing field puttin’ up points and never leavin’ practice to where you gotta rethink your shit and say ‘Well, damn, this is what he thinks of me, that’s why he’s goin’ so hard, because he knows that I’m going to match him on this same level.’

Snoop and Eminem, have previously collaborated back in 2000, as they featured together on the song “Bitch Please II,” alongside Dr. Dre, Xzibit and the late Nate Dogg. However, this beautiful melody was released on June 24, 2022. Produced By Eminem and Written By Luis Resto, Cordel Broadus, Snoop Dogg & Eminem.
